WHO EXACTLY ARE THE 80S BABIES?
We are a fashion, art and culture based group. I want to start out by saying that the whole meaning behind our name is more that what most people think. "80s Babies" is not a declaration of when we were born, but a commemoration of the decade itself. We grew up in the thick of pop culture, witnessing video killing the radio star, blessed to have exposed to hip hop when it was raw and uncorrupted, we were products of Reganonomics, we went through the D.A.R.E program, we were the first generation of children in our family to use computers. We view the 80s as a time that was ripe with ideas and important events that shaped us a people. Lucky enough to have been there, we still feel the impact and the mark made from this period.
WHAT DO WE BELIEVE IN AND WHY ARE WE HERE?
80s Babies believes in doing everything with style, we promote a unique and creative lifestyle for the individuals seeking refuge from the norm. With talents that range from music, art, fashion and writing, we set out to bring Chicago to the forefront. Also along the way we offer support to all creative residents, we like to keep our karma clean. Everyone likes a party...and that is our weapon of choice. However please do not mistake us for "party promoters", it is much more than that. 80s Babies events not only inspire but bring all people together to build conversations, thoughts and positive energy. We liken ourselves to a current meaning that 80sBabies is the energy source to get the art to the public. It is the atmosphere that we create but you help bring it to life. It all comes down to having fun in the name of the arts. It's more than a decade...it's a movement.
